I'm thinking of L-204's mainly and then it can be altered to others if needed.

Chill, looks good. I just remembered. I did follow the directions for the river set up with the powerheads when I started. The thing is, I encountered a problem with it. Since everything was all interconnected, the powerheads would fight for more powerflow. One would cut the other one off or worse, they would cancel each other out. I found out that this was because of the ladder time PVC frame.

What I did to solve the problem was to take out the connections between powerheads and also take out the connections between the intake filters. Therefore, everything would be one to one. One intake filter connected via a long PVC to one powerhead. Below is an attempt to show my point:

Filter Intake ------------------PVC--------------------- Powerhead

Filter Intake ------------------PVC-------------------- Powerhead

Filter Intake ------------------PVC-------------------- Powerhead

There is no PVC connection beween the three powerheads nor between the three filter intakes.

I have found out that this set up would ultimately give a stronger current or pushing power for each powerhead because each one would suck water independently from one another. Each powerhead would have its one area to draw water from. The water flow is more direct.

You may not have the same problems as what happened to me. This is just to let you know if ever you get to encounter it. FYI.

I did take it into consideration, so all is exactly the same length, but as you say it might not work at all.

I made it so it is, lets say, 1 meter to both intakes from the pump. If I haven't missed totally, then the suction should be the same on both Filter Intakes.

Based on your info I will only weigh down the formation with stones to test it out, before I sillicone it to the bottom.

Added the surface to the structure. I had to use gravel in combination with sillicon.

We have almost 40 cm of snow outside, so finding the slate I had planned to use was hopeless. I know it is somewhere in the garden

Now that is a lot of silicon!! How did you apply the silicon? Did you just pour over ithe styro then pour gravel over it?

I applied it with a silicongun, then I scraped it out and pressed the gravel onto it.
I was a little sceptical at first, but If its given time to dry then it shoulden't affect the fish.

I am in the lucky situation that my girlfriend is manager of a LFS, so I get nice discounts on fishy stuff

It's 504 liters, but I will only have around 350 liters in it.

Hey ho, Chill!!! Any news on how that tank is coming along? You would have something done by now except if this is basically a weekend warrior thing. I'd like to see how it is.

Today the fish went into the tank, and I can only say, they look like new fish

They have been out working on the roots all day, as contrary to before when they just hid under them all day.

I will get some pictures of them tomorrow.

Can you share some info on how to trigger them to breed?

The only thing that concerns me is wgat have you got between the tank and the metal stand?
I always use a piece of moisture resistant MDF to cover the whole base and then a layer of polystyrene just to help spread the weight.
With out this all the weight will be bearing down on the steel.

The whole tank is resting on the same as you use to seal between window and windowframes (damn if I know the name in english

).

This is also placed between the tankbottom and the frame that runs round the bottom of the tank.
If you look closely you will see that it's to 504 Liters in the same stand, and they are handmade by a local company called Aqua Design.

As for the weight, the tank has never had less gravel in it then now.

Probably me just panicing Chill.
A friend of mine set a large tank up on a metal frame without proper support and the whole thing broke 3 weeks after setting it up.
Looks good, I will hopefully be doing similar in the summer with a 218 gallon tank. if I have not sold it by then.

It's been like that for 3 years now, so I guess it would have cracked by now if incorrect

I just added 9 pics of the final setup with the plecos in it, I am also going to put my LDA-01's in it later.
Last pics are a little "big" so have pations if on a modem

As L204 belong to the genus Panaqolus , have you try to make a holeor more inside a driftwood!
Making a hole deep enough to house the fish and just big enought so he can squeeze in but not too big!!!
