Want a catfish

Post by SamuraixBob »

Hi im on my brothers name. I want to know if a catfish could live with 2 buffalo head chiclids that mind their own buisness and 6 tiger barbs that mind their own buisness except for the dominate male. He nips on the other barbs.

hi its his brother. he forgot to mention that he has them in a 29 gal, and the buffalo heads are both about 2 1/2 - 3 in. The buffalo heads can be really really agressive, but his dont do it at all..

By "buffalo head" do you mean Steatocranus? Yes, you could add catfish, something like a Synodontis might work well, but the kind of Synos that would hold up to Steatocranus and tiger barbs would be the medium sized ones like S. eupterus or anglicus, and your 29 gallon tank will be too small for them once they reach adulthood.

Also to my opinion a 29 gallon tank is too small for S. angelicus or eupterus!!!
