I think the best present for fish would be some treats or other food. I am sure your plecos would love it if you give them an extra large piece of their favorite vegetable. Or you could give them a Christmas dinner of a whole bunch of different fruits and veggies. My common pleco likes yams (the piece I put in my aquarium was gone the next day and my pleco was the only one big enough to eat it :D ). You could make them a yam, cucumber, zucchini salad with any other veggies or fruits they like.

Yams

The yams I fed my fish were cooked. I haven't tried raw ones yet so I am not sure if they will float. Cooking them makes it softer and it will sink by itself.

1. I would make "fish kebabs" - put a few different veggies and perhaps other goodies on a metal skewer - I use the handle of a teaspoon for slices of courgette, yams/sweet potato, potato, mango, and maybe a mussel or prawn for protein.

2. Bigger plecos will eat raw sweet potato, but blanching it will not hurt - they prefer it softer, and as long as you don't overdo it and make it REALLY soft, it'll be fine.

Quick rinse under the tap and you're good to go.
