How to Lower water temp's?

Post by UNTgolf »

I just got a group of 5 young barbatus and the temp in their 40 gal breeder tank is at 75 degrees. From what I've read 70 degree is the mean ideal temp from all the sources . My question is how do you lower temps other than using ice packs, which I think cause to much flux day in and day out in temps. I plan on putting a small fan above the tank but other than that I can't think anything else that might work! Thanks for your time.

I believe Azoo makes a combined heater/chiller for a tank your size. It runs about 300 or 400 bucks, but it will keep a constant temperature between 50-86f. Just google Azoo Electronic Chiller / Heater CH-400 .
