Hemiloricaria or Rineloricaria
The Cat-eLog has several Hemiloricarias, while both FishBase and CoF file these under Rineloricaria.
As I don't see too many Hemiloricaria as synonym for Rineloricaria, I was wondering if this has been a recent genus change.
And also: which genus must I regard as valid?
HH, many thanks in advance

Hemiloricaria was one of the infamous DATZ genera. I have never seen it used in a peer-reviewed scientific publication as a valid genus. All recent papers I have on the topic (post DATZ publication) use Rineloricaria. Unfortunately this will be another one of those genera not accepted by scientists, but used in every German aquarium book, that adds confusion to the hobby. The DATZ, Aqualog, and Welse Atlas all use these genera.
