Is my pleco ok??

Post by Dark Lady »

Hi,

I'm worried about my pleco, his skin isnt all one colour, there seems to be lines of a fainter colour on his body. and lately he seems a bit lighter in colour all over. It's cleary in the picture :

And he doesnt seem to be as active, he is hanging lower down in the tank. The water condition is good, i make sure that its at a good level and they have enough oxygen in the tank. I did have a couple of my platys getting ill, parasite infections, but i sorted that out. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my pleco or not as this is the first time i've had one. he is my favourite fish, so i dont want him to die. Anyone know what's up with him?

Looks OK to me.

It looks like a to me, but the picture isn't perfect for identification purposes, so I may well be wrong on that one.

You should feed it plenty of veggie food, as explained in the foods article.

He looks fine to me aswell. I have a similar one at home that has teh same stripped sort of pattern.

Pl*co's in general are not to active of fish. They will become more active at night time. So don't be to worried if he stays in the same area most of the time.

By chance does your pl*co's dorsal and tail fin have and orangeish/redish hue on the outer edge of the fins???
