5 Foot Stuffed Catfish! What a Catch! Very Lifelike!
Found this on eBay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 6015773107 - a bit big for me but perhaps some RTC guys would like it.

I have one of these...
I've been looking for more to use as a props during my club talks (why you don't buy that cute little 3" Red-tail)
They are well printed and realistic enough. Suppose to be a Flat-head, but the head is sewn pointed, well enough though.
They were originally sold by Cabelas. A U.S. Sporting goods outfitter.

LOL!!!!
the huge stuffed toy on top of the bookshelves looks GREAT
I get this hunch that to postorder one out of the US would shoot the pricetag right up into the stratosphere, right?
I never saw anything like these but it sure is a great way to advocate against those buying a 3" TSN or Redtail for their 75G tank.
maybe the Sporting outfitters should make a fully lifesize Arowana as well.....you'd be amazed at the popularity of these in NL and they're similar sized with TSN's and just like them not suited for the hometank (the missing 8" in length Vs adult 4 feet TSN is compensated by their active swimming and jumping behaviour! Arowana = NOT a pet either)

Actually, it's possible to buy only the empty shell (on eBay) and then stuff the catfish yourself. I presume the empty shell would cost only a little more than a letter to ship (since the shell would not weigh much more than that).I get this hunch that to postorder one out of the US would shoot the pricetag right up into the stratosphere, right?
The whole thing (when stuffed) is bulky, but actually weighs little. So even if you bought a fully stuffed one, it doesn't weigh that much more than the empty shell.
I think there a whole series of these, all of them based on American gamefishes (largemouth bass, pike, sunfish, etc.)

For my talk, I stuff the one I have into a 6" x 6" x 6" cardboard box. It's very tight, but I am able to just barely tape the box shut.
Once I snip the tape while talking about RTCs, the fish literally erupts out of the box.(akin to the growth rate of these fish!). I believe it conveys the point I am trying to make quite well!
SidGuppy, if you find one you want to buy, I can at least confirm whether or not you're getting gouged on shipping costs.
