L-264 Confusion
L-264 Confusion
Planet Catfish says that they get 6"SL and Datz says they get over 12" TL. So what one is it?

I have a groups of 5 L 264 that I am bringing on with the intention of breeding. From the information that I have been able to get from aqualog and other internet sources it appears that they are about 15-20 cm (8" in old money) I have had them for around six months in a rio 400 with regular water changes and good feeding regime and i have to say that the growth rate is slower than I would have expected. I obtained them at about 2-3 inches and they are now in the region of 4 inches. The larger lorricariae usually appear to grow faster under similar conditions. A Pseudocanthicus spinosus ( L 160 ) and P triactis (L 091 ) both of which have grown faster . Saying this aqualog has a photo of a 264 at being held which appears to be a larger specimen at about 8 Inches. Hope this helps

Re: L-264 Confusion
DATZ vaugely says more than 10" TL IIRC. I've not seen them larger than 6" SL. The picture in Aqualog looks about 6" SL to me. If anyone has seen them larger, let us know.LDA19 wrote:Planet Catfish says that they get 6"SL and Datz says they get over 12" TL. So what one is it?
