Hi!

Yes for me these are Hypancistrus sp L129... I have seen these pictures labelled as L340 on L-welse.com... but I can say they are no L340/LDA19!!
There is many different population of L129, some with well defined lines (white/yellow, light brown and orange) and some with poor defined lines making the fish looks almost black...

Cheers

I think there have been some mixed up here, these are for sure L316 Hypancistrus sp and not L129.

Janne

I have seen the same kind of fish on L-welse.com, Mathias had told us that they were bought from Transfish (A. Werner) as L340... I have no doubt these are no L340, but based on the origin, L129 would be more likely

I agree the eye on these seem to be a bit small compare to other L129, still I found these to have a rather bigger eye compare to L316, and a little difference in the body shape as well

My 2 cents
Cheers

I am very sure these are L316 and somewhere it has gone wrong, something to be aware about is that exporters are selling fish to each other between the countrys in south america but in this case I think the reatailer or the place these are bought from have just labelled them wrong at the first time.

I can be wrong
I have study Mathias pics and compared them to my pic's of L316 and there are very small differencies, Mathias fish are a little more brownish and their eyes are slighter bigger but just slighter, in all other they are looking the same even the bluish colour in the dorsal fin.

Sorry that I am so stubborn sometimes and I have to agree with you Yann, these seams to be L129.

They look very much the same as two plecos i bought as L-270 "chokladzebra". I got them directly from simontorp. (Large Swedish distr.)
I have had them for 2-3 years now and think their lines get thinner and thinner and are breaking up as the grow bigger.
