Help L-260 Pleco!!!!!!

Hi i need help, my l-260 and l-270 have problems with PH, in my tank (6,6), this is a problem?, whats ideal ph.?, and he doesnt eat potatos! and now?

The pH seems fine. Hypancistrus prefer meatier foods. Try feeding them brine shrimp or bloodworms instead.

I find that even the herbivores prefer other foods to potatos. I sometimes make "fish-kebabs", which has slices of several vegetables, such as zuchini/courgette + sweet potato + potato. The potato is always the last that are left when everything else has been eaten. Courgette [zucchini] is much more preferred.

But as HH said, Hypancistrus are much more carnivores than for example Hypostomus or Ancistrus. It doesn't mean that they should be fed ONLY meaty food, but say 75% meaty stuff, and the remainder from vegetable matter.

If you're having a problem and provide all of the information in the sticky posted at the beginning of this forum, you'll be MUCH more apt to get information that can actually help us help you. Length of time the tank has been up, other inhabitants, temperature, all of these things can greatly impact the fish well being. Thanks!

I would like to try the 'egg on the rocks' recipie but I wonder what you mean by "The dry egg white will only dissolve very slowly in water". Are we talking Hours, days or weeks?
And approx. how long will it take to dry?

Isn't that typical. You write several hundred lines of text, and the editor (=Jools) adds a few lines, and those are the ones you get questions on...

I would expect it to take several hours, maybe lasting a little more than a day. I haven't personally used that method, so I don't know for sure.
