Sold to me as a Giant Otto, but no info on species. Has anybody got any ideas?
Approx size is 3.5" to 4"

One of these (I would guess H. thoracatum or maybe H. gulare).

Giant ot's are not true ots, Hypoptopoma gulare has been in season for quite some time now.... out of peru. find out where it came from.

Have looked up Hypoptopoma gulare and found a few pics, but non with red eyes, or is this not a feature used in identification?

I'm not sure about that Sp in general. Eyes are usually just determined by a region a fish is found ie the same sp found up river might have pale tan eyes. Like I said though this isn't my expert oppinion, just an observation.

It looks more like Hypoptopoma sp. I in Welsatlas Vol. 1.
