I opened up the NY Times this morning to an article on P.Gigas:

The article is about the disappearance of the giant freshwater species. It seems the author may have happened upon Shane's article at some point!

*#*@($ NY Times! The article was up for free for about 12 hours. Then, they begin to charge for it. So much for a "free press."

It was similar to your article, Shane. No mention of Weels, but everything else was paralleled.
