Help Please... Orange/Red Spot on Belly
Help Please... Orange/Red Spot on Belly
It seems like I've been having so many problems with my tank lately ... Has anyone encountered this or know what it might be? I woke up this morning and found one of my zebras sucking on the front glass which is very rare and then I noticed a huge orange/red spot on his belly. I did feed them Hikari Sinking Carnivor pellets last night before I went to sleep. Could this have anything to do with it? I never feed live foods and haven't added any new fish for the past 10 months or so. Please give me any advice you can, I've never seen this before. Thanks...

Im not sure if it happened over night. I rarely get to see my zebra's bellys because they are usually hiding in rocks where I don't get a chance to. Although that doesn't rule out the possiblity that it did happen over night.
The only thing sort of sharp or rough would be the rocks but besides that, I dont think so.
The other tank mates are 4 adult zebras, 5 little baby ones and 2 cardinal tetras.
Has anyone seen heater burn on a Zebra Pleco? Would it look like this?

That was my first thought too. If you look carefully, it looks there is a band sort of diagonally across the belly [almost vertical in the picture] that looks a bit lighter than the rest of the belly, going across the actual wound.Graeme wrote:Looks like a heater burn.
Shape looks like he was sideways on.

Do you think something like this would work?
