Tankmates for Brachyplatystoma Juruense
Tankmates for Brachyplatystoma Juruense
I'm setting up a 250 tank for a single Brachyplatystoma Juruense. Should I leave him alone? If not, what ohter types of South American cichlids etc would make suitable tankmates? Thanks in advance for your input ...

That would be a nice mix.
however, Blue Eyed Pleco's are nearly extinct in the wild......maybe we should leave those strictly for the dedicated hobbyist that buys more than one with the aim of breeding them.
if we continue to buy this particular fish as a single add-on to the bigger tank, pretty soon we will know it only from pics and fish in formaline
There are less endangered nice Plecs that will do fine with the big Pims. P nigrolineatus for example.
Maybe you'd better skip the Pims, take a loan, buy 4 Blue Eyes and breed them? much more rewarding, and if you succeed, you'll be some sort of a hero in here
