My new Royal!!!

Post by Ben »

Hey folks!

Finally, after waiting a loooong time, I have my newest addition to my tank. It's a beatiful 3 inch Royal Pleco! A friend who works at my LFS had to fight with the owner to convince him to order this beauty in for me, and was I ever happy when it arrived today!

Looking forward to what the Panaque pros of PC have to say about my little guy :)

Ben, This is the true P. nigrolineatus of the Venezuelan/Colombian llanos.

thanks all for your comments, and thanks to Shane for the confimation of him being a true P. nigrolineatus. I was pretty sure he was, but i know it's a fish that can have several deviations.

I got a chance to observe him interacting with his tankmates after work this morning. He decided he wanted to steal the prime hiding spot of my dominant male L187b. They had a bit of a scuffle and the L187b ended up backing down, which was a first for him. I think I have a new boss of the tank now!

He's eating well. He took a good chunk out of the fresh Zuchini I put in before leaving for work last night, and put away the better part of a large algae wafer this morning. So far he's fitting in great :)
