Has Pseudohemiodon apithanos been bred in captivity? What are the special requirements, if any, for them to spawn?
I keep them in a bare bottom tank at the moment. I understand they are lip brooders, is fine sand essential to breeding them? The 50gallon tank is a "loricaria" tank with twigs, pots and tubes. The tank may look messy, but successful spawnings of Rineloricaria microlepidogaster and Sturisoma barbatum/robustum (?) have occurred here.
