They look too dark to be L66's or to put it another way they look totally different to my L66's which have thicker white lines.

They look like the picture of L260 in Datz, perhaps the younger ones have different markings? I'm also wondering if the white stripes are too numerous for L333?
Never argue with an idiot cos they'll only bring you down to their level then beat you with experience!

Hi Plecplonkfizz,

I bought some a few months ago just like those in your pictures which were labelled as L333 at the LFS.

Hi Plecplonkfizz,

I have 2 very similar plecs to yours, which I purchased mail order as L333 (from a guy called Enzo - they were sent through the post in jiffy bags!!! Unsurprisingly it being February 2 didn't survive the trip). However having seen some genuine L333 since I'm pretty certain mine are something else maybe L318? Here's some pics of one of them:

The flash has made the pattern look more contrasted that it actually is. The other has a similar pattern to the one shown in the pics, but the grey/yellow atripes are thicker. I will try and post a pic of him over the next couple of days (that's if this works!).

hi! I would say L333 s well!
The dark coloration must be due to the water that is quite yellow tan!
cheers

Thanks to you all

I thought they were L333,but needed confirmation as their markings are different to my other L333's.I will now put them in with my others.

I now have more L333's than anything else. :)

Thanks again
Steve

I think, if you have two variants of L333, that you shouldn't really mix them. Well, at least if you're trying to breed, I'd say that you shouldn't mix the different variants. Also bear in mind that these are not scientifically described, so we aren't fully sure exactly what is a specie, and what is "local variants".

Let's take the "Gold nugget" as an example: let's say they are specified as ONE specie, I still would want L177 to be bred with other L177 only, not L18 x L177 (forming a "mid-size" spot).

That's of course my personal opinion...
