So good I found this topic!!

Well can you tell me what my new one is called? Got him today, pretty cute one, think I may get some more.

(dont worry if the tank looks a lil overcrowded, all the guppies are living elsewhere now, just a couple of cories with him)

he is my first pleco, think I might get more after a bit of research. Any chance of breeding them?

They're fantastic fish, I've got 3 and they're out and about all the time, really active fish who aren't shy at all, mine have even stopped shooting off to hide everytime they see movement outside the tank.

Try fixing a slice of courgette in the tank, they love it! They do need wood in their diet. Mine will chomp on Hikari algae wafers like they're going out of fashion and also Tetra Prima Granules. They also like the occasional munch on bloodworms and will even have a taste of mussel but don't seem particularly impressed with the more meaty foods. They also seem to enjoy grazing on algae and have yet to bother the plants. A truely superb fish

I'm hoping that I can get mine to breed but there doesn't seem to be much info about it

People have been breeding (aka Clown Pleco) which is a close relative. It's likely to be able to breed them in tanks if you follow the 'recipe' of Panaque Maccus breeding. There's some info here and here.

Feeding courgette (Zucchini) is a good plan. Slice it and boil for a just a few seconds (no more than a minute). It should still be firm, just a little bit softer than raw.
Feeding is best done just before lights out, and whatever isn't eaten in the morning should be removed.

I use a plain old teaspoon to skewer the courgette, that way it sinks, and the fish can get to it.
