L193...?

Post by Zoney »

Bought this fish at a local petstore, they are not too good with names, and i saw that L193 wasn't that common... Any one know if this could be a L193?

L193 is an Acanthicus from the Rio Orituco. Your fish is an Ancistrus (maybe L293?).

I have found two pictures that SAY it is L293:
this and this.

I'm unsure from looking at those pictures whether this is your fish or not (particularly the first is quite useless, as the fish is out of the water).

If anyone has a DATZ that they can look at, it would help a whole lot.

My fish looks a little like the one on the 2nd picture, so it might be that one, but not sure. Would be fun to get my guy a partner, so would be easier if i knew the L number of it ;)

Actually he should be fine. Ancistrus are easily sexable and a male will, in 99% of the cases, tolerate a female. If I were him I would definitly get a partner for his, as they should be easy to breed and they are a cool pleco.
