Rubberlipped?

I bought these 2 at a pet store warehouse-type place near me. They were labeled as "Rubber-Lipped Pl*co" with the scientific name given as Chaestoma sp. Please pardon the quality of the pics, but these creatures are not exactly photogenic. The top 2 photos are of 1 fish and the bottom 2 photos are of the other fish. I realize it's nearly impossible to sex them from these photos! Can you please help me identify them? Thanks!

Hi, I have one in a 60cm fish tank, are they better kept in pairs or own their own?

As far as I understand things, they are perfectly happy to be kept on their own.

If you keep more than one, you should make sure that they have individual hiding places, preferrably a bit apart, so that they CAN form their own territory if they like to.

I have them in a 75 gallon tank with lots of hiding places. They like to chase each other about 1 hour before lights-out every evening. Sort of like an auto race. I'm wondering if they're making their own "current." I read Silurus's link and then went on to all the other Chae.listings. They seem to be from fast flowing rivers. I should get a small pump and place it near the bottom. They also hang upside down on driftwood for hours, next to Otos. Then they can spend days cleaning the gravel, out in the open.

Uh, I think one in a tank may be best....I found second L-187B dead. This is the second time I've tried to have a "partner" and it's failed, worse than the first. The first time, I thought it was just a malnourished fish from the store. I'll take the hint and leave him as a oner. It wasn't a pretty picture. So, I won't take any. It was extremely gross.

But what is insane....I found some of those Corydora fry! Right near the corpse...whodunnit? The other L187B or the alpha female Cory?????? I'm taking fry pics for the other posting now...
