Cave materials

Post by gex18 »

I have recentley setup a tank for (hopefully) breeding queen arabesques, and havwe included wood and pvc piping (black), for hiding / spawning sites, however will make c=some better caves out of tile but want to know if glazed tiles are ok if not what kind are ok? My setup is a 60 litre tank with filtration via a powerhead, fluval 3 plus filter and eheim 2008 internal filter. Tank contains 4 queen arabesques. What dither fish can be added? Are apistos ok, or are tetras a better option?

I think glazed tiles works better then pvc-tubes if you not can use slate or other cheramic material, 60 L is quite small and no other fish then QA in the tank if your intention is to breed them. It's even small to host 4 QA and you should try to only have one male with your females...if you have two males they will fight quite heavily in such small area if they are mature, 1 male and 2 females could work in your tank.
