Water is on the warm side and very, very soft and black. Remember that the Atabapo originates in the same terrain as the Rio Negro. I believe I have some specific chemical property mearsurements and will check at home tonight. L 52 are just a side product of the real trade in the area...Discus and Uaru, so with L 52 think wild Discus conditions

The below info is from the upper Negro, but is similar to the upper Orinoco and Atabapo...
Color: Dark Tea
pH 4.42
KH .1
GH .003
O2 7.24
Water temp: 27.1 (circa 81F)
Air Temp 26
I would not try to replicate these parameters, but rather aim for soft warm water.

these guys are not hard to breed either as long as u provide current and have a pair that are in good conditiond they will spawn. With the cave make it as small as possible so that only two fish can fit in but dont make it ridiculously small(i brake bottoms of pot and use that and works well)as for temp looks like shane knows what this was just if you wanted to breed them and they start breeding at 7cm
cheers
