My first L052 spawn
Hi
Today i got a suprise when i just got back from the movies and found my male L52 on about 50 eggs and was wondering
a)what to feed the babies and
b)when is a safe time after the babies hatch to take away from father as i heard they barely have a yolk sack is that correct
cheers Kyle

The fry hatch after 5-6 days and are very small, the yolk sac is big compared to the size of the fry but much smaller if you compare them to ancistrus fry. The yolk sac is consumed after 5 days...they are similar to Sturisoma fry and around the same size, first food can be a slice of squash that you have boiled for a few minutes before you feed them, that make it soft and also sink together with newly hatched brine shrimp.
And dont get suprised if the male not take care of them after hatching...just be prepared to take them out, it happens sometimes that he just fanning them out of the cave or if they have spawn under a piece of slate.

Thanks for the info. When i bred mine all i did was make sure i had a male and female put them in there own 3ft with bits of clay pot broken off and stuck into the gravel with a gap for male to get in i also had a external canister filter doing 900L/h with a good current and the temp was 26c and ph of 6.8 so nothing special to get them breeding except alot of courgette and i did have gravel in th tank.I will take some pics tonight and will be on here
