Hong Kong Shop Pics

Post by Sentido »

Took these pics from a Hong Kong shop on a recent trip. Many of the pseudacanthicus and panaques were about a foot or more in length. The shop owner gave permission to post these pics on the net.

Those are some pretty cool fish. How big were some of those tanks? Were most the pictures taken of one tank or did they just have that many (Mango Pleco's I think, I don't keep any Plecs).

Also, how many people over there have the tank size to support those monsters?

The big plecos were housed in 2 big tanks that were at least 100 gallons each I think. Yes they were quite impressive. Never seen such a collection before.

I was also wondering how people could get tanks of 100 gallons or more in their houses in Hong Kong because the living space is so limited. This is a place where the streets are so narrow yet the vehicle of choice for most people are long Japanese minivans and hulking Mercedes S class cars. Go figure

Is picture 15 a Megalancistrus paranus? I've never seen one that big! Those plecs are beauties ... I love that they keep them altogether ...
