Corydoras ID

Post by Sentido »

Hi guys!

I have no idea what these cories are. It's very hard to take pics as they are always moving.

Hope the experts can help in the ID. Thanks! :D

Photos are not that clear, maybe C. septentrionalis.

Unlike Corybreed I'm no expert but for what it's worth: I concour. C. septentrionalis looks most similar but your fish look longer and their eyes look, well, odd. Could just be artefacts of the photos though. You could look at C.Ellisae as well. Have fun with them whatever they are :D

Yup, they are C. septentrionalis all right. While their body patterns don't really show up in the pictures, their tails look just like the ones on my septentrionalis. Yours appear to be pretty active. How many do you have?

I currently have 7, haven't really noted the male to female ratio. Yes they are very active, always swimming around. I have a group of cory brevirostris also (seems I don't have males), and I noticed that some males of the septentrionalis are chasing the female brevirostris. They look so different. Is there a possibility they would actually crossbreed?

Thanks! :D
