West African Leptoglanis

Post by Antti »

Has anyone seen these fishes lately on importers/exporters lists or in shops?

I used the search button on these, didn't bring much results. Is anything exact known about their natural habitats, temp, species occuring in same biotopes etc.?

They are sand burrowers, and would require sand to be comfortable. And cool water with a current.

Thanks HH, that sand burrowing thing was interesting. Does that mean these fishes are found in sandy clearwaters (ie. like Hara)or are they found in more rocky places?

Do they eat algae well?

They are found in sandy areas in large rivers (e.g. in sandbanks). And no, they are not algae eaters.
