If you don't know what they are, how do you feed them?

Post by Icthician »

My dream of finally importing fish was recently shattered when I was received six boxes of fish that contained only some of the species that were on my list . Beyond the fact that I am royally PO'ed, I have at least 3 species of plecos that I don't have a clue of what they are or how to feed them.

How does one go about finding out how to keep and feed a pleco if you don't even know what it is?

The second fish is (or something very close). There is no info for this species in the Cat-eLog, but the requirements should be similar to L. cf. caucanus.

The first one should be L050 (Hypostomus cf. cochliodon). These are wood eaters.

Thanks guys. I'll prepare the proper environments for them until it's time for them to go.

Aren't they the greatest? :)

The third ones are some of the fish on my list to work with in the future... you know, when I get some available tank space! Or find a shoe horn, or something like that ;)
