Pl*co advice

Post by justL#s4me »

I am starting a cichlid tank, a 40 gal. breeder 36"x18"x16" and I was wanting to get some opinion`s on some differant Pl*cos that are not your run of the mill, that you see everyday Pl*cos, that would be happy in that size tank? And how many would you suggest that I would be able to put in it?
Thanks

That would depend on what kind of cichlids you plan to put in the tank. I would suggest different loricariids for a tank full of Apistogramma than a tank full of eartheaters.

That would encompass explaining many, many possible combinations. Do some research on your own first and we will help with any information that you are unable to track down.

Hmmm, I just replied to this thread in the other forum you posted it in. I'll delete that entire thread. Please do NOT cross post, as it wastes both our time and valuable server space. Your question will be answered if you just put it in the forum it belongs in.

I agree with Shane completely. You figure out which fish you want to keep, and we'll help you with suggestions, but as there are hundreds of possible cichlid flavor combinations, that's asking a bit much to try to figure out what you might or might not enjoy.

Ask her what she wants from the tank in terms of color, movement, behavior and the like. What are your tap water parameters? Quite a few of us keep cichlids, so I'm sure we could give you some suggestions, it's just a crap shoot to try to figure out what "look" you're shooting for without at least nosing us in the right direction ;)
