L-128 blue or black??

Post by davidkozak »

I ordered some L128's and they showed up black...now, in the catalog, they are described as an inky black fish with blue spots, but in many of the pictures the fish themselves are blue..do they start out looking blue as juvies and slowly become solid black as they reach adulthood?? Does anyone own an adult L128 that's blue??

hi, dont own any (yet) but LFS has just got 8 shipped in- a good size, about 5 inches.
these are the first I have seen in the flesh. these are dark , but not jet black, but with a slight blue hue, the spots are supposed to be powder blue but they are virtually white.
I would not describe it as a navy blue, more a dark aqua shade. however this is under stress in smallish tank in shop environment and still recovering from shipping, so I will visit again in a week or so and see if colour is blue-er.
they still look beautiful and I am very tempted but £45 so will have to save up.
send a pic of yours??

Depending on collection locale, they vary from black through inky black through dark blue through dark geen and then onto near yellow. About halfway through this range we start calling them L200 as opposed to L128.

Hi Jools,
I've got some L200--they're a very nice green...that's why I was so surprised to find that the L128 was black...I expected them to be a nice blue...Having seen the fish in person and brought them home, I like them though.. ;) I'll post some pics when I get them..

This is my L128. The color in the photograph is very close to what he normally looks like. He hasn't changed color since I got him, but it seems he has gotten quite a few more spots on him.
