Ever heard of a yellow regal pleco?

Post by A Vertigo Guy »

Saw one at my friends shop the other day. Appears to be a goldie but with prolly twice the amount of spots making it almost totally yellow; has no listed L # that he can pull up. I thought it was just a goldie with unusual amount of spotting but wanted to see who else there has prolly seen one.

Sounds like an adult goldie or at least one that is on its way to adult colouration. Knowing what size it is would be helpful.

It was about 11"-12"

Just looks to me to be a goldie with an unusually large # of spots.

Perhaps it is a variant of a goldie but a goldie none the less. Might I even say by the picture that that might be the best one I've ever seen! How much is he/she/it? I think I would buy it if I had the money.

That does look like an adult goldie to me. The more intense colouration may be due to the fact it's a male.

Most peculiar thing I find of it, is that out of the 100 or so Goldies Ive seen throughout my life, this one shines out. Guess why its called Sunshine too

I just hope that one of the three that I am raising will look like that. I think I do have one female and two males. We will have to wait and see. They are about 6-7" now, lots more growing to do in the 150 gallon. I would still buy that one if I had the $$$.

Could it be the L253? They look similar to the goldie too.
