What kind of synodontis is this?

I bought this synodontis cat from Wal-Mart when it was tiny. They called it a synodontis lace. It's now a good 6" long and pretty sure it's a female. Is abdomen is pretty large and an ovipositor is present. I'm trying to locate another and am not finding one that looks just like it. I've been shown other synodontis lace's and they don't look like mine. Can you help identify this?

Hi!

It is a weird looking Syno, possibly an hybrid, I don't find any species that match him,
Some features such as tail and adipose fins look like , while the body markings and heads look a bit similar with

I especially find the dorsal fin very small for bein S. eupterus and placed a lot behind of the head for being S. nigrita...

Any chance to make a pic more sideways??

If it's a hybrid, will it cross breed with another syno that's close to it?? (That may sound dumb)

Wasn't there even a description as a new species (Synodontis galinae KOCHETOV, 1998) - which of course isn't - for such specimen? I think we had discussed that some time ago?

Yeah, not the prettiest in the world but full of personality! Posed for me while I took pics of it. After reading up on eupterus, I'm not even going to try to introduce another one. If they hate each other I don't have another tank large enogh to put one of them in. Thanks for the responses to my post

I feed him (her, who knows) sinking wafers and between the syno and the pleco, they fight over the food. I think the syno is winning the food battle judging by the size of the gut!

Malachite green when used on juveniles can have this effect.
But there is lateral line erosion so lack of nutrients may well be the cause
Try feeding bloodworms every so oftern as this is more like there stapel diet.

Hmm, I have used malachite green (Quick cure)for ick outbreaks several times in the past and when it was a little cat. I do feed bloodworms to all my fish several times a week in addition to various staples and froz brine. The bloated belly is recent, in the last 6 weeks or so. Possibly overeating?

Females tend to get quite bulky with age, and yes they will eat till it looks like there gonna burst.
