Catfish died...

I was just wondering if anyone might know what may have happened to my catfish...

All but one armored cory (we had four or five), and a young stingray, in my fishtank died. So, only the fish that lived on the bottom died. The other fish were unaffected. Could anyone help me?

What kind of a substrate are you using?

Need to know about water conditions in the tank, pH, Nitrates etc. Without details it would be impossible to figue out what happened.

...gravel-y stuff...? Like, the kind you can buy at a pet store. Um... and fake plants, if that has to do with anything.

I really don't know the Ph or anything... um...heh.

In the Lori forum there is a post that says "read this before you post". Read that and provide us answers to the questions and we'll be much more help to you than just trying to blindly take guesses at what could have happened. If you don't know any of the answers, that's probably at least part of the problem.

Sorry... But, um, my mom said she might have poured flat soda in the fish tank, thinking it was water.
