quick ? about channel cats.

Post by SimonW »

I have two channels that I am keeping until they are too large for my tank...then they will go into a pond. Something I noticed about them that I haven't noticed on the adults I have caught in lakes and rivers is that they both have a small black spot on their left side just below their dorsal fin.

Is this on all of them? I thought that it was interesting. It is only on the left side.

Young channels usually show more spotting than adults. It's not something to worry about.
