Otocinclus sp.

Bought at auction as Otocinclus "Columbian Jumbo"!
Best match in Baensch is affinis but the picture of affinis in the Cat-eLog is of a different animal altogether. There are several in the Cat-eLog that are like this beastie. They are about 3cm SL. Any ideas?

It is a normal oto. The size is normal.

What is a normal Oto.?? There are at least 13 described species with several looking very similar.

From what I can see from the picture I think your Otocinclus is O. macrospilus, which grows to around 35 mm sl (standard length) .

Not to post something trivial. But the name of the country is Colombia. Sadly, I have noticed that not even TFH can spell it correctly.
