Looks like the aeneus sp. "Black" to me...which may or may not have another name or C#.
I've known groups of them to sell for hundreds of dollars here...no kidding.
Where's GETRICHQUICK? He'd know.

Looks like a C. aeneus 'Black' to me as well.

Thanks for the ID, I will try and take a better photo of it- shouldn't be difficult as it is always out and about at the front of the tank. I paid £7.50 for it and was told it was wild caught.

I've known groups of them to sell for hundreds of dollars here...no kidding.
Thats pretty rediculous for an aquarium bred fish isnt it...they go for 5-10 euros here...

are you sure this is an aquarium breed fish? i just had a fish like this on my last import list from peru. they are listing it as( Corydora black Peru Corydoras semiaquilus). they are shipping them in at 25 per box. very pricey and only 5 cm. ken

Semiaquilus are enormous fish, surely they can't be put under the same name as these aeneus variations?

I'm sure that you are probably correct on that. this must me another fish altogether. i'm trying to get a photo of one so that i may share it with you guys here on pc.
