Oi!
Loricariidae can be agressive to each other but only if the tank is too small for them, not enough caves are provide...
Did you quarantine your fish before introducing them into this tank...
Have you check the water parameters as well?
What other fish are with?

Don't Give Up, Don't Ever Give Up!
Hello Yann! Good portuguese you have! . Really thank you for the information. My tank is of Tetras, have a PH of 5,5 to 5,8, general hardness less than 3º dH e temperature of 28 celsius degrees in summer and 25 celsius degrees in winter. Is heavy planted and have a brown water from the turfa that i use in the filter.
The nitrogen parameters are perfect always, ammonia(NH3/NH4*) and nitrites is always in 0(nitrites and nitrates never goes up, because my PH is much acid and the nitrosomas and nitrobacter can't metabolyze the amonia, my plants consumpt this).
This pleco i bought really small, and now have 1 year with me, have around 8 to 9cm of lenght. The others plecos that i try put together with him is: L-114, L-018 and L-015. All of this plecos dead after some days. And i didn't quarantine this new plecos, but the store that i bought is really serious and never sell fishes with disease, and they didn't shows any aspect of disease. Maybe is the my water parameters is not good for they(much soft and acid water), or my L183 kill them.
Don't have caves in my tank, i think in make a cave with PVC pipes, can do?
Cheers,
Matheus S. Almeida

Good idea! But i think in put Java moss in the PVC pipe, will be a really natural look. And i can put it in the back area of tank, and don't will be ugly. What a mystery - ! I think maybe clay / terra cotta planting pots look nicer than PVC? Or maybe cover the pipe with some flat rocks?
Cheers,

Oi Matheus!
Well L15 L18 are coming from the RIo Xingu, a fast clear water river with a ph close to neutral and with a lot of dissolved oxygen in it so basically the total opposite of your tank.
Regarding L114 I remember that Jon Armbruster found some in different biotop depending of the age, but I can' t remember which way, he found some in slow moving water creek and other in fast moving waters, I remember him speaking it was certainly age related as he could not find every size in both configuration.... I shall ask him again...
Your is living without any problem as she is coming from the Rio Negro, so your water are well adapted for her...
Cheers

Hello friend! Yes, my Dolichopterus was perfect, really pretty and active! I think in buy other for try the breeding. I think in put only Dolichopterus in my tank, because this is from acid and soft water, perfect for my case. I will make some caves.Your Ancistrus dolichopterus is living without any problem as she is coming from the Rio Negro, so your water are well adapted for her...
But tell me, you refer to my Dolichopterus like a female(She), this is female or male? The male don´t have the mustaches? How i can identify the sex? Can i try breed they in my planted tank, or have risk for my Tetras when they defend the eggs? I have two tanks of Breeding, but now this tanks are ocuped with Red Phantom(breeding they) and Red Crystals shrimps(breeding they). I need wait for use them, then, i think in try breed in my planted with Tetras.
Really thanks for the informations!

Hi!
Yes she is a female, the mustache are only on the far edge of the snout, and are simple, in males they usually split and also some grows on top of the snout up close to the eyes...
You sure can try to breed them in such setup, the males gard the eggs in a cave and defend them, once they are out of the cave the young are on their own...
Cheers
Yann
PS: Obrigado para o complimento, Eu acho que nao tem melhor que brasil...a...
