Oxydoras Niger

I like these fish.
Whats the average max size on them? DON'T tell me 100cm because that is what fishbase says. I want to know what the average max size on them is. I.e. the record size for an oscar is about 18 inches but they average out at about 12 sometimes only 10 inches. I want to know the average. I also want to know if they are really aggressive... like the Mystus species.

IIRC, there are contributors to this site and members of the forum who have kept/seen 90+ cm specimens. 100 cm seems like a reasonable "normal" size. Fishbase is now quite accurate on the sizes of South American fishes in particular, since they have revised their numbers with data from a recently published checklist.

A metre in length is far from unusual for this fish, and certainly 80cm should be expected. Although very peaceful, they still require huge aquaria. Thw two here are in 1000 gallons of water, and I worry about whether that is enough space for them once they start churning things around during a feed.
