Panaque maccus Diet

Post by paul_southend2k »

I feed my two Panaque Maccus algae tablets and they have 3 pieces of bog wood to 'chew' on, I have tried feeing them cucumber but they were not interested..... can they survive off just wood and algae tablets or should i try and feed them other things? They do sometimes eat Tetra Prima that sits on the bottom of the tank....

Thanks

Hi!
I feed my 3 p.maccus with algea tablets, they have 2 pieces of bogwood, and also i feed them with bloodworms and cucumber(not to often!)
my also did't like cucumber in the beggining, but now is another story, leave it, they will eat it

The fish often do not initially recognize Cucumber and/or Zuchinni as food.

Try sticking a few of their favorite algae disks into the slice of cucumber to bait them to it. Once they try it, they should start to eat it. Eventually (sometimes quite quickly!) they'll be fighting over it.
Sincerely,
