Hemibagrus wyckii sociability
I just purchased one about 9". Ive read the hype on the fish's aggressiveness and want to hear from someone who has had one. Id like to put it with some Central American Cichlids (about the same size). Im a bit leery with what Ive read. Anyone had luck keeping these with non bottow dwellers?
not a fish im familiar with but i think i recall someone refering to it as "satan" when i was browsing through old posts

had a look at pic on there and its a gorgeous fish and im very jealous
hmmm had a search through old posts and someone also refers to it as the hellspawn of all!!!
i think id keep it alone if i were you LOL

I bought it from waterlife on aquabid a month ago and Ted told me it smoked every bottom dweller it came in contact with. (polypterus, other cats). He never tried it with any midwater fish. Ive put a couple Amph. trimaculatus females and a few odd Caqu. umbriferus in with it and so far so good...but I havent turned out the light since.....
Wyckii is mean!
Hi!
I currently have a Hemibagrus Wyckii that is about 30 cm together with a pair of Cichlasoma Festae.
I also had a Trimac that i was forced to get rid of because the Wyckiis agression against him.
At daytime everything works fine as long as the other fishes doesnt comes in to his cave. They have learned that the hard way.
At night the Festaes live in hell having the Wyckii chasing them around the tank and bites flesh of the fishes.
So its NOT a good idea to put anything together with your Wyckii, sooner or later he will get them dead.
I am going to sell my Wyckii and i am currently overfeeding him so he would go at least a little bit easier with my Festaes..
Regards
Danne
