Making bloodworm safe

Post by jon b »

I have a nice colony of bloodworm in a rainwater filled plastic plant pot that has being lying in the garden for some time. The container is mucky and the water green and I live in an area of the UK where there is still a lot of heavy industry (and hence pollution?). Would these worms be safe to feed to my cory's and plecos straight, should I disinfect them or should I leave well alone.
Thanks
