Hi!
Yes it must be an Hypoptopoma
here are the link to the different species:
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/lo ... /127_f.php
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/lo ... /128_f.php
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/lo ... /616_f.php
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/lo ... /617_f.php
My thought would go to Hypoptopoma sp (2) but since yours is rather young, its pattern might still change a bit until it will be adult...
Cheers

Thanks very much for your picture Graeme, appreciate it.
The hypoptopoma carinatum seems little more flat in the head in comparision to mine? Not quite sure about that.
Anything conculsive here?
Thanks!

Your fish looks quite small philtre, is it? Fishbase lists the max size of Hypoptopoma carinatum at 7.6cm TL, so a young fish could have slightly different proportions.
(http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/Species ... =carinatum)
And if Hypoptopoma sp.2 in the E-log isn't definately known from a different location, it may very well be the same fish. I certainly can't tell w/o any doubt as the pics of sp.2 aren't that detailed...
Sorry I can't be of any more help, but I'd consider it a good find anyhow.
