I think you should have quaratined it a bit before adding it to your tank. Particurly with such a nice L-333 already present!

The new Pleco was purchased from a very trusted source..never had a issue.

That being said, I agree with you.. I am setting up a tank for quarantine and also a larger 40 gallon tank to house just my Plecos.. I've become quite fond of them :)

(L187b bulldog) - this one has also almost doubled..very healthy and has a nicely spotted head now.

I would agree with Chris.
You have an Hypancistrus and there is a pretty good chance for him to be H. inspector
