Grawel/sand in the L-046 tank?

Post by discusion »

Hello folks!

I`m from Norway, soo excuse my bad english.... :?

I`m wondering if its best too have the tank with no grawel/sand? Soo that i just have a bare bottom tank with rock caves. Will that make it easier for them too breed?

My idea is that it will be easier for them too find food, and easier too clean.

Welkome all answers! I need help :)

Yes, it should be easier to clean that way. When you feed them, you may need to stop the current so that the food doesn't flow away from them.

Mine have never complained, personally. I think they get used to it. They still feed and interact in bare bottomed tanks, its just easier to keep clean. Mine have yet to spawn though, so I'm not really going to be able to guarantee they will in a bare bottom tank. :)

Tanks for the replyes :D

I have now taken out the sand, and the plectos seems happy with the bare bottom tank. So I hope it`s gona be easyer too keep the nitrate levels low now. It has been a problem too clean the tank.

So now I only can wait and see if it`s gona get bether :D

I think the L046 is pretty allright with or without substrate, its not very particular on that.

I hope that it`s gona be easyer for the L-046 too find the food in the bare bottom tank.

I have 2 male and 4 females in the tank. I juse 8 stone caves for them. So hopefully the can start spawn

So now I`m trying too make the tank "perfect" for them. But the big question is what is the perfect L-046 breading tank :?:
