Help for newbie to this Forum
Hi,
Someone tell me if I did something wrong here? I posted a topic to the ' South American Catfishes (Loricariidae - Plecos et al)' section titled 'Suitable Pl**o tank mate for LDA08 bristlenoses?' and so far had no responses. Initially my post was a generic question about compatibility and I had no response so I changed it with a more specific question still no luck!

Hi Buzzer,
Welcome to the forum! I think you're just a victim of people not wanting to answer the same questions over and over, to be honest. A couple times a week people ask what fish can live with their fish, and what sized tank. You don't mention your preferences, or what size fish you want to keep even, and to be honest, there are a thousand possibilities. If you do a search (from the top of the page in the toolbar), you can find a few of these topics.
With that said, cories, rainbows, tetras, small south american cichlids and numerous other fish would be compatible. If you can narrow down the field for your question, we'd love to help, honestly.

Barbie,
Thanks for your reply...I did try to do my research honest! I guess as I'm getting back into fishkeeping after a break of 3 years and changing to keeping catfish (rather than Mbuna) I got a bit overwhelmed with all the (excellent) info on this site..
My plans are now to go with the following (just for info)
2 x Bristlenose (pair)
1 x L200
+ good selection of cories (no more than 16)
for a 48x15x15 tank
Will try to be more specific in future.

Don't feel like I was scolding you, I definitely wasn't. Just pointing out what the problem might have been. I would personally probably add some praecox rainbows to that mix for color and activity, with no aggression or other problems you can see in other types of fish. They're a very neat addition to catfish tanks (or I'm prejudiced maybe . The fish you already have planned sound fine. I'm assuming your dimensions are in inches.

I can honestly agree with Barbie about the Melatonia Praecox - they are a stunning fish that brighten up any tank with their beautiful colours (and they are a doddle to keep). I am just wondering where you are getting your L200 from and how much ? I just live down the road in Hartlepool.
p.s. Sorry I did'nt reply to your bristlenose question - I dont have any - only Queen Qrabesque's.

Bigward/Barbie,
No worries - thanks for the responses, Rainbows sound like a good addition - I might go for 4 (to start with)once I've sorted out my cories etc.
Re L200 - I was speaking with a guy at Fish Alive in Durham a week or so ago about L#s (and others e.g. L255) and he said he might be able to get one in. It's certainly not a definite! Will probably be going back up there this weekend (wife permitting!) to check with him again.
