hi im new to keeping cat fish .i seen this amazing fish at my lfs and simply had to have it .can anyone give me advice about this giant

mines going in a 8x2x2 tank soon then on to a 10x4x4 at my local shop on display when hes to big for that same as most of my big cats. ide love to keep them but its just not fair to keep a 3 footer in a tank thats not wide enough. i havent the room for a bigger tank
a man who takes the long way will always get there in the end (just later than every one else)
