Captive breeding?

Many pimelodids are currently captive bred on fish farms, right? Like RCT's and Tiger Shovelnoses (since I'm seeing many hybrids coming around, that must mean they're being captive bred). But what about Merodontus tigrinus? They're pretty rare, so I assume that no one captive breeds them; whoever does it first will be very rich!

I remember reading an article somewhere (TFH?) saying that the TSNs and RTCs need hormone injections to breed in captivity.

As far as I know all M. tigrinus are still wild caught.

If I'm not mistaken, some specimens end up in the hobby as byproducts of attemps to produce fish for human consumption. Something about specific characteristics of the fishes.

You'd think with all the demand that M. tigrinus has, they'd use the hormones on them, too...
