L600 ?

Post by Greggo »

I've had this for nearly a year now. It was labeled by the collector as L25 and clearly it is not. It looks similar to the photos of L600 in the Cat-eLog. Any ideas?

Thanks

This fish is probably the real Pseudacanthicus leopardus from the Rio Rupununi drainage in Guyana/Brazil. When it appeared first, the fish did not have an L-#, so it got from the wholesaler the temporary # L600, because that was far away from the real last L-# at that time.

Thanks for the replies. It's good to know for certain what it is. Three of these arrived at my LFS mislabeled as L25 by the collector. I wish I would have bought all of them as it is one of my favorites.

The true Pseudacanthicus leopardus (Fowler, 1914) is not L-114?
