Bristlenose Qusetions

Post by cafman »

I just got my 2 breeding pairs of Bristlenose in the mail (1 pair albino, 1 pair normal) and I am so excited. I do however have a couple questions.

I bought them on aquabid which was a good experience. The seller said they had the "long fin gene" but I didn't really understand what that was. What is it? And if both parents have it will all children get it?

Also there seems to be some contradiction in the literature that I have been reading. My question is this. If I feed my bristlenoses vegetables, cucumber and zuccini ect., do I still need to get them some wood for their gut? I can't seem to find wood in a pet store for under 45$.

Thanks
Chris

If you use the searce function at the top for "Long fin bristlenose" the fist post in the list contains more than enough information.
