I think your rift lake Synodontis could actually be a hybrid. https://www.planetcatfish.com/shaneswor ... cle_id=269
They look a lot like the third photo in this article and don't match any of the Tanganyikan species imo.

Thank you for this. You are probably correct. I couldn't ID them for sure first nor bothered afterwards. They were adopted out yesterday anyway to a happy new owner.
