Shrimp safe w/Raphael's
My intuition is absolutely not......but do you think Raphael catfish would eat live cherry/amano shrimp? I have a bit of an algae problem so I thought about putting shrimp in (Since they help so much with my 29g tank)

Re: Shrimp safe w/Raphael's
I haven't tried them together, but my marbled raphaels enjoy frozen brine shrimp, so I don't think I'd try cherry shrimp. Are the amano shrimp much larger? (IDK, never kept them).

Eric

Re: Shrimp safe w/Raphael's
My assumptions would be that they would eat the shrimp, but my experience suggests that maybe cherry shrimp aren't terribly tasty.
The shrimp happily munching away outside of the caves holding 3 of 4 raphaels in this tank Another shot just showing more of the shrimp population Your mileage may vary.

Re: Shrimp safe w/Raphael's
The smaller doradids eat snails, small shellfish and insect larvae in nature. I'd question their ability to catch cherry shrimp and indeed their motive if well fed. The pictures paint that picture very well.
